Description
This great horned owl was sleepily watching over its nest about 100 yards away in a state park near Denver, Colorado. Most of the time it perched with its eyes closed, well aware of my presence (a good distance away), but seemingly unconcerned. At one point it woke up, looked around, including directly at me, giving me time to take a few shots, and then went back to sleep.
