Description
We have lots of hummingbirds who take up residence on the mountains near Evergreen, Colorado, in the foothills. While they show little fear and often hover right in front of me, when I bring out the camera they seem to get shy. This one loved the salvia and lavender so much that he completely ignored me, moving from flower to flower, sipping the nectar while I tried to keep up.
I was lucky this hummingbird had such distinctive markings and unusually bright coloring. Most of these birds around here have more muted coloring. Alas, I haven't seen him since.
