Artist's Description
Snowflakes are abundant right now in the foothills of Colorado, but they aren't easy to photograph. This snowflake seemed to be a bit of a showoff, settled at the end of a pine needle after a soft evening snow fall.
About Lowell Monke
I taught myself film photography in an environment that was both endlessly inspiring and frustratingly difficult: the high Andes of Ecuador, where vivid colors and fascinating subject were regularly swallowed up by the harsh contrast of strong sunlight. Upon returning to the States I had to limit my photographic work for nearly 20 years. Finally, with more free time available and relocation to the stunning foothills of Colorado, photography has reclaimed my passion. I hope some of these images bring you a fraction of the enjoyment and inspiration I experienced capturing them.
