Description
This black and white photo looks like a dandelion about to go to seed, Actually, it is about 5 time larger than a dandelion. It is a Salsify wildflower, which is a member of the parsnip family (I've read that it is edible). It is found growing wild in the foothills of Colorado and if found before the wind blows it apart is a wonderful example of the geometric patterns created by nature.
