Here is a portrait of a beautiful iris that actually grew in my front yard. I replaced the ugly background and added a little texture to do it justice as a photo.
About Lowell Monke
I taught myself film photography in an environment that was both endlessly inspiring and frustratingly difficult: the high Andes of Ecuador, where vivid colors and fascinating subject were regularly swallowed up by the harsh contrast of strong sunlight. Upon returning to the States I had to limit my photographic work for nearly 20 years. Finally, with more free time available and relocation to the stunning foothills of Colorado, photography has reclaimed my passion. I hope some of these images bring you a fraction of the enjoyment and inspiration I experienced capturing them.
