Description
I believe this is a double crested basilisk, a type of lizard common to Costa Rica. They hang around water, which is where I found this one, in Cahuita National Park, right on the Caribbean coast. They are often called Jesus Christ lizards because they have the ability to run across the top of water for short distances. This one probably couldn't go too far as he was a big one, close to two feet long.
